PSY 669 Trauma in Diverse Populations

This survey course focuses on the psychological components of trauma and trauma treatment across the life span for survivors and offenders. Students examine the prevalence, risk factors, protective factors, effects, and recovery processes for multiple traumatic experiences. Attention is given to the cultural context of trauma recovery, as well as to evidence-based treatments and promising practices. This course satisfies the BBS requirements (both LMFT and LPCC) in California for child and adult abuse assessment and reporting, as well as spousal or partner abuse assessment.
